Are you comfortable breastfeeding in public?

Many mothers worry about how they will cope with breastfeeding in public. This is a very common and understandable concern. Fortunately many shops, restaurants and shopping centres are starting to take notice and as a result are making it more acceptable and accessable for breastfeeding mothers to breastfeed when they're out and about.

You can make it easier for yourself by wearing clothes that are loose and that will allow you to feed discreetly. Use of a poncho or throw can also help and believe it or not, most times no-one will even notice that you are breastfeeding.

If you do feel uncomfortable breastfeeding in public, lots of places now offer baby facilities in which you can feed your baby privately. If you are unable to find a place in which you can breastfeed privately ask the manager to direct you.
