Early Pregnancy Symptoms - Enhanced Sense of Smell
An enhanced sense of smell is one of the very early signs of pregnancy that troubles many newly pregnant women. Lots of mothers-to-be become extremely sensitive to everyday smells and it is not uncommon for foodstuffs, such as tea, coffee and toast, to trigger waves of nausea. Perfumes are another culprit!
Fortunately this particular symptom of pregnancy often wears off for most women during the middle months.
Knowing it will eventually ease may offer little comfort whilst you are in the midst of suffering: often the only solution to the problem is to avoid as much as possible being around smells which annoy you. Try keeping a window open to allow the air to circulate around you, therefore dispersing unwanted smells, or you can try disguising them perhaps with some scented oils on a tissue which you can sniff if necessary. (Tip - Lavender is particularly good and it also relaxes you!)
