Breastfeeding Videos - Common Breastfeeding Positions
Getting your newborn baby correctly positioned on your breast is the key to successful breastfeeding. However, babies can be fussy little people and what works for one baby doesn't necessarily work for every baby. Often new mothers find that whilst perhaps their first baby had a tried and tested position that worked perfectly, much to their dismay subsequent babies sometimes refuse to feed in the same position!
All is not lost, however, as there are many breastfeeding positions to choose from. Getting your baby to latch correctly is important to prevent breastfeeding problems, but getting a comfortable breastfeeding position that works for both mother and baby is also very important. If mum and baby are both comfortable, then the breastfeeding journey is likely to be a much more comfortable and rewarding experience.
The following video demonstrates breastfeeding positions that are commonly used by mothers and their breastfed babies. Don't be surprised however if you find that your baby creates one of their very own which works for you both. As long as mother and baby are both happy, and the baby is receiving adequate nourishment, then you are successfully breastfeeding and should just relax and enjoy your special time together.
