24 Weeks Pregnant - Signs of Pregnancy
Mother
From 24 weeks pregnant your antenatal appointments will become more frequent; your blood pressure will be monitored and various urine and blood tests may be performed to check for anaemia and pregnancy related diabetes. You may also be weighed.
Baby
Your baby's lungs are continuing to develop and are now producing a substance known as surfactant; this helps his lungs work properly after birth. Around this time sweat glands begin to form. Little creases are appearing on his palms and his co-ordination is improving. Taste buds are developing and your baby may now react to changes in the taste of his amniotic fluid!
