Pregnancy after Miscarriage

Women are often concerned about getting pregnant after a miscarriage. How long should they wait before trying again? Should they do anything differently this time around? How likely is it that they will suffer another miscarriage?

In most cases, pregnancy after miscarriage is fine and goes smoothly, although your doctor may want to keep a closer eye on you just to be on the safe side. He will usually give you an indication as to when it will be safe to get pregnant again; this is usally advised after your body has healed physically form the previous miscarriage and often after you have had one normal monthly period. Unfortunately, women who have suffered one miscarriage are at a slightly higher risk of having another but this is something you can and should discuss with your doctor.
