Stillbirth Poems - For Baby Theo
This very touching stillbirth poem was written for baby Theo by his mummy who told us he was was born sleeping at 33 weeks. She found the poems on our site helpful after losing him, so decided to compose a poem of her own in memory of her special little boy.
For baby Theo
I'm just another number and the numbers are so small,
I cry alone when I'm in need of a friend, a hand to hold.
Nobody could have seen this, nobody could have thought,
That our baby would be born asleep, nobody knew at all.
In pregnancy we live in bliss, this life that grows inside,
But in our bliss and ignorance a problem can arise.
I am one of just four thousand, in the UK just this year,
We all have lost our babies and it is so unfair.
You say you understand and you say how much you care,
But until you have stood in my shoes you never will be here.
I feel like I stand alone, you just don't understand!
To have funeral for your child is just the wrong way round.
We've said goodbye to our boy, our beautiful son Theo.
We love him with our whole hearts and to us he is right here. xx
